The Student Project Toolkit is a web-based resource of York University’s Learning Commons and is best used alongside the Student Guide to Group Work. The project was developed collaboratively by York University Libraries and Career Education & Development.
What Students Need to Know
The Student Project Toolkit is designed to support any project you may be working on with a student group, a community partner, or on your own initiative. It can even help improve your course-based projects. Consult our introductory video and our three modules covering different aspects of project work: (1) Getting Started, (2) Running Your Project, and (3) Finishing Your Project. Each module contains a short video and a section titled Tips, Tools & Templates, which offers practical tips and downloadable checklists, activities, templates and more that will help you enjoy your project experience and ensure you realize your project goals.
What Faculty/Instructors Need to Know
This guide covers the fundamentals of project work, and we hope you'll consider referring your students to this when you assign group projects for courses or work-study positions. This guide provides information and resources students need to execute successful projects with confidence independently.
